The African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) 2026 application is now open for young Africans who are passionate about leadership and development.

This is a fully funded 12-month volunteer program designed to empower youth across Africa.

📌 About AU Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC)

The African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC), established in 2010, is a flagship youth leadership initiative that recruits and deploys young professionals from all 55 AU member states.

The program focuses on:

• Youth empowerment
• Skills development
• Promoting African unity
• Supporting Agenda 2063 – “The Africa We Want”

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

• Be a citizen of an AU Member State

• Be aged 18–35 years

• Have a post-secondary qualification (ND, HND, BSc, MSc, TVET, etc.)

• Be available for 12 months (2026/2027)

• Be willing to work in another African country.

• Be proficient in at least one AU language (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, Kiswahili)

Have:

• At least 1 year volunteering experience

• At least 1 year work experience

Prepare the following:

• Updated CV (max 3 pages)

• Passport or National ID

• Highest qualification certificate

• Recommendation letter (not older than 2 years)

• Cover letter (answer key questions)
