About Plateau State University, Bokkos
The Plateau State University, Bokkos, is a conventional public university established by law and granted official recognition by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on April 5, 2005, making it the 24th state-owned university and the 66th university in Nigeria.
Located in the Butura and Tarangol Axis of Bokkos Local Government Area, the institution stands out for its beautiful natural scenery, undulating landscape, and clement weather — all of which provide a conducive atmosphere for teaching, research, and administrative work.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Professor
Ph.D. or Fellowship (for Medicine) from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 12 years of teaching and research experience, preferably in a university.
Proven record of independent research and publications in reputable journals.
Must currently hold the rank of Reader/Associate Professor.
Membership in professional bodies is an added advantage.
Associate Professor
Ph.D. or Fellowship with at least 10 years of cognate experience.
Strong research, supervisory, and administrative capacity.
Publications in reputable national and international journals.
Membership in professional bodies preferred.
Senior Lecturer
Ph.D. or Fellowship with at least 7 years of teaching/research experience.
Must show evidence of scholarly publications and the ability to conduct independent research.
Lecturer I
Master’s Degree, MBBS, B.Pharm, or Pharm D with at least 5 years of cognate experience.
A Ph.D. is an added advantage.
Lecturer II
Master’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of teaching or research experience.
Assistant Lecturer
Master’s Degree with at least 1 year of teaching or research experience.
Confidential Secretary I
Minimum of 4 O’level credits including English Language.
HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Secretarial Studies.
NYSC discharge or exemption certificate required.
